The Belgian context
Active in Belgium for over 40 years and working within the Belgian education system since 2008, VVOB – education for development brings proven ideas from partners in Africa, Asia and South America into Belgian classrooms. We connect teacher educators and teachers with approaches that turn classroom diversity into better learning for all. Our work spans early childhood, primary, general secondary, secondary (technical vocational education and training) TVET and tertiary education. We focus on initial teacher education, continuous professional development for teachers, and sector coordination and policy dialogue so effective practices from international exchange travel into everyday teaching in Belgium.
