In the course of 2016, VVOB organised an external end evaluation of its DGD-funded 2014-2016 programmes in the South. The evaluation produced nine country level reports and two summary reports, one for the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) subsector programmes and one for the Early and Primary Education programmes.
The evaluation is in general very positive about VVOB’s capacity development approach and the results achieved by the programmes in just three years. The evaluators praise in particular:
The evaluators found the programmes often too ambitious. This has been addressed in the new programmes for the period 2017-2021 which are more focussed and realistic. Encouraged by the conclusions and recommendations of the evaluation, VVOB will further invest in professionalising its capacity development approach and pay more attention to facilitate the upscaling and replication of pilots and innovations by the strategic partners.
