The Belgian development agency Enabel and VVOB have committed to close collaboration to maximise the impact of the Belgian international cooperation on the education sector. Enabel executes the Belgian governmental cooperation.
For both VVOB and Enabel, this partnership agreement is a next logical step in our year-long relationship.
- Since 2020, VVOB implements a project with support from Enabel's digital platform Wehubit. Scratc²h 2050 strengthens digital skills of learners and teachers in STEM education in Rwanda. Learn more about Scratc²h here.
- VVOB also executed a consultancy assignment for Enabel (then known as BTC) with the aim of developing a training programme on active teaching.
- Today, Enabel and VVOB are important partners in Uganda, where the organisations are working on the quality improvement of TVET.
- Enabel and VVOB are also both members of the steering committee of the Belgian expertise network Educaid.be.
"This partnership agreement capacitates us to make the Belgian international cooperation efforts for education more coherent and stronger", says Enabel's Managing Director Jean Van Wetter. "On a global level too - think of UNESCO or the Global Partnership for Education - Belgium's voice will be a louder one thanks to this agreement."
"The existing collaborations between VVOB and Enabel will also be strengthened thanks to this agreement", concurs Sven Rooms, general director at VVOB. "Our organisations' assets are unique, and together we will be able to support ministries of education and their systems even beter."
