Guide to Strategies for the Prevention and Management of School Bullying

This guide provides theoretical and practical strategies for preventing and addressing school bullying (acoso escolar) and peer violence in Ecuadorian schools. Developed by the Ministry of Education of Ecuador in collaboration with VVOB, it offers an integrated framework for promoting peaceful coexistence, conflict resolution, and restorative practices within the school community.

The publication introduces preventive and reactive interventions, including the creation of prevention teams, the use of a practical guide for managing bullying cases, and the implementation of restorative practices in education. It also includes examples, such as the “Lucía case,” to illustrate real-life applications. The guide aims to strengthen participation, empathy, and accountability across the educational community—students, teachers, families, and administrators—while promoting a culture of respect and inclusion.
