Summary
This manual introduces the TaPas (Talents + Passions) Project, a methodology designed to help students in Ecuador discover and develop their unique strengths and interests. Developed by VVOB in collaboration with TaPasCity (Belgium) under the Programa de Educación y Formación Técnica y Profesional, the manual provides teachers and counsellors with practical activities and tools to support self-awareness, motivation, and informed decision-making about study and career paths.
The publication includes exercises such as talent mapping, archetype cards, and talent experiments to encourage student reflection, collaboration, and personal growth. By focusing on a strengths-based approach, it helps reduce dropout rates, improve engagement, and align education with each learner’s individual aspirations. The manual integrates concepts from psychology and education, including growth mindset, positive psychology, and experiential learning.
