User Guide for the Partnership Mapping Tool for the Tourism Sector

This instructional guide supports teachers and coordinators in technical education institutions in Ecuador in using a digital tool to map and manage partnerships with tourism sector organisations. Developed under VVOB’s Skilling for Sustainable Futures programme, it provides a step-by-step methodology for identifying, categorising, and prioritising potential social and productive partners to strengthen technical education through collaboration.

The mapping tool, designed in Excel format, enables educators to record partner data, assess interest and negotiation outcomes, and plan joint actions to improve student learning experiences through internships and technical exposure. The publication includes detailed instructions for using each section of the tool—data entry, partner characterisation, meeting outcomes, and action planning—helping institutions establish meaningful and sustainable cooperation between education and the tourism industry.
