VVOB in Uganda Educational Guides

Summary

This series of five guides, developed under the Teaching Agriculture Practically (TAP) programme, supports teacher educators and student teachers in Uganda’s National Teacher Colleges (NTCs) to integrate practical, hands-on agricultural education into pre-service training. The guides provide step-by-step support for implementing experiential learning through student plots, production units, exposure visits, and school practice.

Developed by the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) and VVOB – education for development, the TAP Guides aim to strengthen teacher competence, entrepreneurship, and sustainability in agricultural education. Each manual offers lesson planning tools, safety and environmental management tips, and reflection exercises to link practice with theory. Together, they promote quality agricultural teaching and prepare future teachers to inspire learners towards sustainable livelihoods and food security.
