The over-arching theme the 2021 Policy Dialogue Forum is ‘Innovation in teacher policy and practice for educational recovery’ with particular attention to: i) innovation in teaching and learning, (ii) initial and in-service teacher education and (iii) education policy.

VVOB contributes to 4 sessions:

  • Plenary panel 'Innovations in teaching and learning' (moderator)
  • Break-out session 'The value of play-based learning for education recovery' (speaker)
  • Break-out session 'Innovative leadership for teaching and learning continuity' (speaker)
  • Break-out session 'Digital teaching innovations and the teaching profession' (speaker)

VVOB also presents an innovation in teaching and learning, Catch Up in Zambia, during the CSO & Foundations constituencies.

The event brings together education stakeholders from around the world, both in-person and on-line, to discuss the complexities of the post-COVID era and identify how to ‘build back better’ and ensure that education systems harness and expand collective capabilities for innovation. It will generate policy recommendations for ministries, civil society organisations, international organisations and donors that support teachers, school leaders, teacher educators and policy-makers.

VVOB's mandate in Teacher Task Force Steering Committee renewed

“The COVID-19 crisis has made clear that consensus, coordination and partnership are more important than ever to further the teacher agenda”, VVOB’s Global Programmes Director Tom Vandenbosch comments. “While much is left to be done, the Teacher Task Force is well placed to play an active role in this respect. We look forward to further strengthen this partnership in 2021 and beyond."
